GREENSBORO, NC -- North Carolina's agriculture industry contributes $78 billion to the state's economy. Agribusiness is everything from fish to Christmas trees, cotton to sweet potatoes!

North Carolina produces more tobacco than any other state. Not a surprise. What is the other crop they produce more than another other state? Sweet potatoes. North Carolina ranks second in the nation for Christmas trees and the production of hogs and turkeys.

Agribusiness accounts for nearly 17% of the state's income and employs 16% of the work force!

Four Triad counties are in the top 10 in the state for producing beef cows. And one ranch in Snow Camp has been doing it the old fashioned way for 40+ years. And by old fashioned, we mean the rancher herds the cows by calling them! We visited Little Creek Ranch a few years ago to show you how cattle is Made in the Triad.

Rancher Ronnie Teague calls the cows home. Really. "C'mon girls"

What makes his ranch old school, 5 generations worth, is that all the cows "From the day they are born they get milk from their mothers and then they start on grass till the day they are harvested."

The Teague's have created an environment. that honors the tradition of days gone by. and ranching without man-made products.

"It is like a little piece of heaven out here, we know that God gave us, and we have to be god stewards of what he has given us and we try to take care of it."

Little Creek Ranch will be selling it's grass-fed beef again in October 2014. You can put orders in on their website or by calling them. Little Creek Ranch does free tours for groups.
