2 crashes involving law enforcement happened Friday in Rockingham County

Fire crews responded to the incidents within five minutes of each other.

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — It was a rough day for law enforcement in Rockingham County on Friday, as two separate accidents involving law enforcement occurred one after the other.

At this time, we do not know the nature of these incidents or what led up to the crashes. 

The first accident, involving a Rockingham County Sheriff's Office deputy, took place on N.C. 135 near Young Road in Stoneville. EMS/fire crews were dispatched to the scene at 6:14 p.m., according to Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department.

According to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, the deputy was treated with non-life-threatening injuries and is doing fine now.

Only five minutes later at 6:19 p.m., crews were dispatched to the scene of a crash involving a Highway Patrol officer near Settle Bridge Road and River Road, also in Stoneville.
