15-year-old arrested after shooting threat made to high school in High Point

The School Resource Officer was notified about the call and several High Point police officers and detectives responded to the scene.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A 15-year-old juvenile suspect has been arrested by the High Point Police Department after a school shooting threat was made to a high school.

The High Point Police Department said a phone call was made to Andrews High School on Wednesday, Oct. 2 around 3 p.m. stating there would be a shooting. The School Resource Officer was notified about the call and several High Point police officers and detectives responded to the scene. 

The juvenile was charged with Communicating A Threat of Mass Violence on Educational Property and was transported to the Guilford County Juvenile Detention Center in Greensboro, where they remain in custody. 

Police said the investigation determined the threat was not credible and deemed it an isolated incident.
