CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC (WFMY) - It was a birthday one North Carolina woman will never forget, after a visit from a sheriff who wanted to surprise her by honoring her 104 years in a special way.
Cumberland County Sheriff Ennis W. Wright made a special stop Saturday to visit Mable Owens on her birthday.
Wright gave Owens a certificate that honors her for over a century of good citizenship.
Wright also gave Owens the Certificate of Appreciation as well as a wristband that read #DotheWrightThing among other items.
