MEBANE, N.C. — The rain earlier today wasn't enough to stop people from coming out to the 'Lidl' hiring event in Alamance County.
Grocery chain "Lidl" is hiring up to 100 workers for its new distribution center in Mebane.
Starting pay for the logistics positions is $15.50 an hour, including benefits.
The Mebane distribution center is expected to open next spring.
Interviews are still happening until 7 o'clock tonight. Candidates can also apply online.

The warehouse is off Ralph Scott Parkway in Mebane.
Lidl recently announced it will open a store in Greensboro.
It will be located on West Gate City Boulevard, next to the Adams Farm Shopping Center.
