Greensboro Potholes Mutate On Landview Drive Near Sam's Club

Two massive potholes on Landview Drive in Greensboro made for an obstacle course as drivers tried to drive around them.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — After one pothole was fixed in October, several more have popped up on Landview Drive, near Sam's Club and Walmart.

Two massive potholes made for an obstacle course as drivers tried to drive around them. Many more were blindsided by their presence and could not avoid driving right into them. Nearby, water was beginning to collect over 3 smaller potholes in their early stage of development. Bringing the total number of potholes on that road to 5.

The potholes are creating problems for drivers trying to access the businesses in that complex.

"Especially with people that are behind you that don't know that there is a pothole they are trying to speed around you and then they get stuck in the pothole," said Dindi Robinson who shops at the Walmart frequently.

"I thought that they had patched it up and then I guess it's like three more opened up," added Robinson.

A nearby tire shop has helped many unfortunate drivers repair their tires.

"It's a huge sinkhole.  We've gotten several calls just because we are geographically so close to it," said Michael Gaskin, a manager at Beamer Auto and Tire.

According to documents, the potholes are on a private road, which means it is not the responsibility of the City of Greensboro, Guilford County or NCDOT to repairs. Instead, the responsibility falls on businesses in the strip to get it fixed.

Walmart and Sams Club draw the most traffic there and fixed the previous pothole.

WFMY News 2 reached out to them to get a time frame of when these potholes will be fixed and are awaiting feedback.
