HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point man who went missing in January was found dead in a creek on Brentwood Street on March 14 and has been positively identified in what police say is a "suspicious" death investigation.
The High Point Police Department (HPPD) said the autopsy results of 38-year-old Joseph Morgan are inconclusive as there were no apparent signs of injuries and no indication of foul play.
Investigators said this will be considered a suspicious death investigation while the medical examiner waits for the results of toxicology screenings.
Police said Morgan’s family filed a missing person report with HPPD on Feb. 2. According to family members; Morgan was last seen at a home in the 100 block of Kendall Drive on Jan. 30. Throughout the investigation, detectives spoke to family and friends and followed up on information about places Morgan was known to go. The family also put out fliers and informed detectives about continued search efforts.
Anyone with information about this case can call the High Point Police Department at 336-8833224.
