Missing man tied to a hit-and-run near Penny Rd. found dead near another crash site near I-74, High Point police say

Police said Eric Morrison was found dead days after he crashed on I-74. They said he rear-ended a car and left the scene right before the crash on I-74.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point police said a missing man was found dead days after he crashed on I-74. Investigators said it turned out, the man was involved in a separate hit-and-run crash a few miles from the scene.

Police said they found the body of 33-year-old Eric L. Morrison down a steep embankment on Wednesday night. He'd been missing for several days. Investigators said he lost control of his vehicle, hit a guardrail, and was flung 75 feet from his vehicle. Police are still investigating what caused Morrison to lose control of his car.

Minutes before that crash, police said Morrison rear-ended a vehicle at the intersection of Wendover and Penny Road and took off. No one was injured in this initial crash.
