GREENSBORO, N.C-- With snow heading our way, it's a good idea to make sure your home, car, and body are ready for the storm.
The dash begins as shoppers tick things off their list in preparation for this weekends winter weather.
At The Home Depot in Greensboro, the assistant store manager said things are starting to pick up.
"We are in the season. So for the next couple months, we are ready to go," Frank Rodriguez said.
Things that should make the short list?
"Our top items would be our ice melt and our shovels," Rodriguez said
He also recommends heaters, gloves, and for your car, ice scrapers.
And speaking of cars, fill up your gas tanks, make sure your tires are up to par, check your fluids.
and load an emergency preparedness kit in your trunk.
It should have jumper cables, blankets, a coat, snacks and some water.
For your home, you should have at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food, fresh batteries for flashlights, and extra hats, coats, and mittens to stay warm, if the lights go out.
