Greensboro trainer shares tips for keeping your New Year's resolutions

Club Fitness Trainer Cedric Cheek says to start simple when it comes to making a resolution for 2024.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's that time of year once again. Time to put down the pizza and pick up the weights.

You've likely done it before — made a New Year's Resolution but did you actually stick to it?

Researchers suggest that 9% of Americans who make resolutions complete them with 23% of people quitting their resolutions by the end of the first week, and 43% quitting by the end of January.

Club Fitness trainer Cedric Cheek said when it comes to making a New Year's Resolution start small. Cheek said your mindset and commitment help to keep your goals achievable.

"I always recommend commitment. You've got to commit yourself to working out and living a healthy lifestyle," Cedric Cheek, trainer at Club Fitness Green Valley said.

Cheek encourages those interested in working out to do so with friends and family that way you can hold each other accountable.

"When you're trying to achieve a workout goal you don't want to do it alone so that 's why we have classes here you can take with others," Cheek said.
