WFU Students Decorate Desks For Old Town Elementary Kids

The service project is known as D.E.S.K. or Discovering Education through Student Knowledge.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Every kid deserves a special place of their own that encourages creativity and learning.

Wake Forest University students helped make that happen for dozens of school children in the Triad.

They painted desks for Old Town Elementary School children. Kids got to personalize their work spaces with hearts, rainbows, super heroes, and more!

The service project is known as D.E.S.K. or Discovering Education through Student Knowledge. It was launched in 2000 by two WFU alumni who saw a need for the children they tutored to have a special place in their homes for studying.

The kids also received school supplies that were collected through donations.
