ASHEVILLE, N.C. — UNC Asheville will remain closed until at least Oct. 14 and classes will not begin until at least Oct. 28, the school announced Tuesday.
The school has suspended all traditional University operations, and only essential employees will be permitted on campus as they begin to recover and move forward from the impact of Tropical Storm Helene. But the semester is not done yet.
The school released a statement on their X account:
We have heard from many members of our extended UNC Asheville community who are eager to support our campus. Your messages of solidarity and generous offers of assistance are greatly appreciated. As we continue to assess our needs and recovery efforts, a UNC Asheville disaster relief fund has been established. Your contributions will support the entire campus community.
Bulldogs, you are resilient, and we look forward to when we can welcome you home.
