The April 15 tornado destroyed three Guilford County Schools. District leaders decided to move the students into other schools. It's been a week since their big move and teachers and students are starting to get into the swing of things.
They say it's been a tough transition, but it has helped that students stayed with their classmates and teachers. Some had to double up on rooms because of space.
Karen Wallace, a first grade teacher at Erwin Montessori, said, "That's challenging because it's two different teaching styles but we are meshing it together now and it's just coming together. But at first, it was complicated because her students weren't accustomed to my teaching style and my students weren't accustomed to her teaching style."
Guilford County Schools hasn't announced what will happen with the damaged buildings - but we'll be sure to keep you updated.
