Stephanie and Sydney Rogers are sisters. The siblings also love being a part of the NC A&T State University community.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Graduation season is coming to a close but before it ends, we want to share with you how the love of being an 'Aggie' is a family affair for one triad graduate.

Sisters Stephanie and Sydney Rogers said they love their family so much that they decided to become Aggies.

On, Friday, May 10, Greensboro native Sydney Rogers graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a Master of Teaching Degree.

The very next day, on May 11, her sister Stephanie walked the stage to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies.

“I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, and I knew I had to have a degree to do so,” said Stephanie.

Rogers said her sister Stephanie both have their parents to thank for their Aggie connection.

Their mom, Marita Williams-Rogers, an Aggie too, is a campus educator and their grandmother was an educator. Sydney Rogers shares additional goals after getting her master's degree.

“I aspire to be a principal one day. Getting my master’s is part of that journey,” Sydney said.

Steven Rogers is one proud father. He is the campus director of property management and has been proudly serving the university for over 20 years.

"My sister we are six years apart and when I was in elementary school, she was here at NC A&T and I would kind of being on campus a little bit with her and just seeing the campus as a child I was like I think I need to go to this campus," Rogers said.

Rogers father Steven shared how proud he is of both his daughters and their accomplishments.

"To watch my children, get their degrees and get their masters and things of that nature and being in the teaching field it's just a wonderful thing. I actually moved to Greensboro to attempt to become a teacher and my path just was not meant to be but to watch my children fulfill a dream that I was not meant to be it's just a blessing," Steven Rogers said.
