GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Guilford County Schools (GCS) has 48 choice schools and more than 60 elementary, middle, and high school Choice programs, which cater to students' interests and talents and prepare them for future careers.

The event will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. and will feature several new programs with some making a return.

Families new to the district can also tour a school bus and lunch line and learn about the numerous resources available to them. This event replaces the annual Choice Showcase that traditionally takes place in January.

The district said having the showcase earlier gives families more time to explore all of their neighborhood and choice school options.

Families can find information about Choice School and programs and the application process on the district's website.

The district said applications will be posted online and the window will close on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m.
