GREENSBORO, N.C. — Guilford County teachers and other staff gathered outside the county courthouse, demanding more money for schools Thursday.
Among their requests are better pay for school nutrition and classified workers. They're also seeking raises for teachers who've been in the classroom for more than 15 years.
The rally is being organized by the Guilford County Association of Educators.
“Veteran teachers from year 15 to 24... benefit from teachers with a lot of experience,” Joanna Pendleton, GCAE President, shared.
The group plans to share their thoughts with county commissioners at their meeting Thursday night.
