SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — With the beginning of the school year approaching in August, Surry County Schools has announced that it will offer free lunch and breakfast meals for all students PreK-12 through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2024-25 academic year.

CEP is a federal program that gives schools the ability to provide free meals to all students. This is in place of parents completing a reduced meal form.

This is the first year that Surry County Schools is able to extend the CEP program to high school students. Previously, it was only available to elementary and middle schools.
