Charles England Elementary closed Tuesday due to 'significant flooding': Lexington City Schools

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Charles England Elementary School in Lexington will be closed Tuesday because of "significant flooding" discovered Monday, according to Lexington City Schools.

"We are working with professionals to complete the necessary steps for recovery," Lexington City Schools said in a statement. "Parents, guardians, students and staff will be informed of any updates regarding the school's reopening and any changes to the regular school schedule or activities."

People are asked to monitor the Lexington City Schools website and social media pages for updates on the situation.
