Washington, DC -- Planet Toys is asking stores to pull its CSI Fingerprint Examination Kit from the shelves over asbestos fears.
Lab studies from the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization showed asbestos in some samples of the kit's fingerprint dust.
The New York toy manufacturer has sent a "stop sale" notice to stores while it investigates whether the kits pose a health threat. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says it's looking into the claims, but could not say whether an official recall would be issued.
Walgreens removed the toy kits from its shelves earlier this week and the retailer says it's conducting its own investigation.
