Woman charged with child abuse in Alamance County

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A woman is facing a child abuse charge in Alamance County.

Alamance County Sheriff's Office said they began an investigation of alleged child abuse Wednesday.

During the investigation, a juvenile reported being assaulted by Jordan Paige Hayes. Then, detectives developed probable cause to charge Hayes.

Hayes was arrested for felony child abuse and taken to Alamance County Jail Wednesday.

After further investigation, detectives found probable cause to charge Hayes with felony assault by strangulation Thursday.

Hayes first appeared in court Thursday, she was given a secured bond of $20,000.
