Woman carjacked at gunpoint in Winston-Salem

Police said they responded to the 100 block of Brookstown Avenue.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are investigating after a woman was carjacked at gunpoint in Winston-Salem Friday.

Winston-Salem police said they responded to a parking lot on the 100 block of Brookstown Avenue on a report of a carjacking shortly before 3 p.m.

A woman said that she had parked her car and was walking to an apartment building when a man wearing a white t-shirt and gray shorts came up to her and pointed a gun at her and robbed her of her car keys.

The man then drove away in the dark gray 2015 Toyota Rav4 vehicle.

Officers said the car has an NC license plate reading PHW2578.

Police said the man initially arrived in the area riding a blue bicycle.
