WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A shooting in Kernersville on Saturday left two victims injured in what police believe to be an isolated incident.

The Winston-Salem Police Department said they responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located at 870 Pecan Ln.

While officers were in the process of responding to reports, they were told two of the victims were already being taken to a nearby hospital. Their injuries were non-life threatening.

The suspects left the scene in a white Dodge Charger, according to police. They then jumped out of the car on the intersection of Blue Stone and Fosterdale Lane.

When officers found the car, it was "engulfed in flames." The Winston-Salem Fire Department responded to the fire and confirmed no one was injured.

Police are continuing to investigate.
