Police said there is no danger to the community at this time.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police said one person is dead after an officer-involved shooting on the 5000 Block of Silas Creek Road Sunday.

At 1:40 p.m., officers were called after shots were fired into a car. Police said the victim was the neighbor of the suspect.

William Micheal Fulk, 66, lived a few houses down. Police said he was seen exiting the home with a long gun before he went back inside.

Police said they took cover and gave orders. Folk allegedly came back outside and fired his gun in the direction of the officers.

One officer fired back, striking the suspect.
