FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man is arrested for sending sexual messages to a Henry County deputy and trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a teen in Forsyth County, according to Henry County Sheriff's Office (HCSO).

In January, the HCSO Internet Crimes Against Children investigators began an undercover chat operation.

During the operation, the investigator came into contact with Richard Herman Albers, 63, on an online forum. Albers continued to talk with the investigator on multiple online platforms for weeks.

During the exchange between Albers and the investigator, there were multiple lewd and sexual-in-nature messages coming from Albers to the investigator. It was also believed that Albers was talking to a 13-year-old to arrange a sexual encounter.

On March 14, the HCSO traveled to Forsyth County where they had a search warrant executed for Albers' home. He was taken into custody without incident.

Albers was charged with four counts of Use of Communications Systems to Solicit a Juvenile and two counts of Attempted Production of Child Pornography.

Albers is currently at the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond. He will be extradited to Henry County.
