Winston-Salem parents accused of abusing infant children, police say

Both parents were arrested and received secured bonds.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem parents were arrested for allegedly abusing their infant children on Monday, Dec. 4, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Police said they began working on their investigation regarding the parents in 2020 with detectives receiving another tip in 2022.

Tiana Denyse Thompson, 30, and Joseph Anthony Rivera, 27, both from Winston-Salem, were arrested.

Thompson was charged with one count of felony Neglect Child Abuse with Serious Bodily Injury.

Rivera was charged with two felony counts of Intentional Child Abuse with Serious Bodily Injury and two felony counts of Intentional Child Abuse with Serious Physical Injury.

Thompson received a secured bond of $25,000 and Rivera received a secured bond of $50,000.
