WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man was arrested for attempted murder in Winston-Salem on June 30, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.
Police said they were called to the 3500 block of Reynolda Road for what they called an "unknown trouble" call.
Officers located Eugene Sofley with significant head injuries once they got to the scene.
Sofley was taken to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, officers said.
After further investigation, officers arrested and charged Philip Berry with attempted murder.
Berry received a $1 million bond and is being held at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center, according to police.
