Man shot and killed on Van Wert Street, police confirm

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man was shot and killed on Van Wert Street in Greensboro on Oct. 17, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Around 12:50 a.m., Greensboro police, fire and EMS responded to the 1600 block of Van Wert Street in reference to a shooting.

Shango Adams, 23, was found with a gunshot wound. Police declared him dead at the scene.

The shooting is being investigated as a homicide. Police did not provide any details regarding suspects or motive.
