2 arrested after Greensboro man shot to death in driveway

Shango Adams was shot to death in a driveway on October 17. Police have now arrested two people in connection with the crime.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Police Department arrested two people in connection with the fatal shooting of Shango Adams on October 17, 2024.

  • Terrell Anthony McQueen, 26, of Winston-Salem, was taken into custody on Monday, December 9, in Winston-Salem. McQueen faces charges of first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into occupied property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Winston-Salem Police Department assisted in the arrest. McQueen is in the Guilford County jail without bond. 

  • Southern Lee Hart, 25, of Germanton, was arrested on Friday, December 13, in Greensboro. Hart has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and is being held on a $25,000 secured bond.

Incident Summary:

On October 17, 2024, shortly before 1 a.m., Greensboro Police, Fire, and Guilford County EMS responded to reports of a shooting on Van Wert Street. Upon arrival, first responders found 23-year-old Shango Adams in a driveway with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case marked Greensboro’s 34th homicide of 2024.
