FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA (WUSA9) -- A Fort Belvoir woman is accused of injecting an unknown substance into a child who was being hospitalized, Fairfax County Police said.
Staff said they saw Elizabeth Malone, 28, acting suspiciously in a patient’s room at Inova Children’s Hospital, so they called the police.
An investigation revealed Malone stole medical supplies and used them to inject a substance into the victim, investigators said.
Police didn’t say how the woman and victim are connected but did indicate they know each other.
Malone was arrested on April 25. She was charged with child abuse and larceny. She’s being held without bond.
