HIGH POINT, N.C. — UPDATE: After many interviews, High Point Police Detectives arrested two teenage suspects connected to shooting a 15-year-old.
Just before 6 p.m. on Monday, February 10, High Point Police responded to the 1200 block of Adams Street. When officers arrived they found the 15-year-old suspect suffering from a gunshot wound to his right hip area.
Antonio Davison saw the shooting happen and ran to help the injured teen.
"I laid him down, lifted his legs up and tried to stop the bleeding with a rope," Davison said. "He was basically calm but he was just in pain because he had a big hole in his leg."
Davison said the ambulance and officers arrived about five minutes after she drive-by shooting.
The victim told police that he and two other kids were walking home from Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church when a black “Benz” drove past, turned around and a young Hispanic male rolled down the front passenger window and the victims heard two shots. One victim fell to the ground, got back up and began running. The other two victims ran in different directions and were not struck by gunfire.
"It was a bunch of kids walking together, so it could have been any one of the kids getting shot," Davison explained. "Luckily it was only one because I heard about 7 shots."
Investigators located two 7.62 casings and blood on the sidewalk. These casings are consistent with the AK and SKS style platform rifles. The shooting victim stated that he did not know why he was shot or why anyone would want to cause harm to him.
