6 arrested for allegedly shooting at officers in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Six people were arrested for allegedly shooting towards officers around midnight on Sunday, Feb. 11, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Police said they were conducting a follow-up investigation on the 300 block of Motor Road when a gun was fired near the officers. 

Officers reportedly got into their cars and attempted to find the suspect vehicle. A pair of officers allegedly found a truck near Motor Road and Old Rural Hall Road.

Police said the truck pulled into the driveway before people inside the car began shooting toward the officers and running from the scene.

Luckily, no one was injured.

After a chase, officers arrested and charged six people.

Teodolindo Romero, 35, was arrested for felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill or Inflict Serious Injury along with other drugs and weapons charges. He is being held on a $50,000 secured bond.

Jose Bonilla, 19, was arrested for drugs and received a written promise. 

A written promise is "for defendants of sound mind, with strong ties to the State of North Carolina, and who are charged with a misdemeanor if the statutory criteria are predominantly favorable to the defendant, neutral or unknown," according to the State of North Carolina.

Ramon Gomez, 33, was arrested on weapons charges and received a written promise.

Moises Lara-Gomez, 23,  was arrested for misdemeanor Resist, Delay, and Obstruct a Public Officer and received a written promise.

Eric Reyes, 23, was arrested for misdemeanor Resist, Delay, and Obstruct a Public Officer and received a written promise.

Franklin Godoy, 20, was arrested for misdemeanor Resist, Delay, and Obstruct a Public Officer and received a $5,000 secured bond.
