2 arrested after shots fired on Phillips Avenue in Greensboro, police say

After initial investigation, police believe an ongoing dispute over property led to the shooting.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police said two people were arrested after shots were fired on Phillips Avenue Thursday. 

Police said the shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. on Phillips Avenue and Ball Street. 

Officers said a witness reported seeing two people in separate cars shooting at each other.

Investigators said they found several shell casings in the road.

Officers said no one was injured.

After initial investigation, police believe an ongoing dispute over property led to the shooting.

Police arrested Donshea Smith, 33, and Tamekia Rogers, 45.

Officers said Smith is charged with possession of firearm by felon, discharge in city limits, armed to the terror, felony possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, and second-degree trespass.

Police said Rogers is charged with weapon of mass destruction, discharge in city limits, armed to the terror, and second-degree trespass
