19-year-old dead after Greensboro shooting, police say

Greensboro police said a 19-year-old is dead, and a man is in custody.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 19-year-old is dead after a shooting Saturday morning in downtown Greensboro, and a man is in custody, police say.

Greensboro police said they went out to the shooting call around 12:54 a.m. 

Officers said it happened at East Lewis Street at South Elm Street in downtown Greensboro. When officers got there, they found the person seriously injured.

Police said the person was taken to the hospital, where they later died. 

It's unclear what led up to the shooting as this investigation is ongoing.
