GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman is dead after a double shooting on Phillips Avenue Thursday, according to Greensboro police.
Officers said 25-year-old Sharelle Johnson died from her injuries.
Police said the second person shot is a 20-year-old man. He is still in the hospital from treatment.
The Greensboro Police Department said it happened on the 2400 block of Phillips Avenue around 1:30 p.m.
Officers said when they arrived at the scene, they found two shooting victims. One of the two victims is suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Both were taken to a local hospital by EMS.
Right before 6:00 p.m., an AMBER alert was issued for a missing 9-month-old boy in Greensboro who police say is connected to this shooting. Greensboro police said 9-month-old Kayson Osiah Monk was kidnapped by his father Deon Monk, who is the alleged shooter in this incident.
Monk has been charged with murder.
