4 arrested for illegal gambling operations at 2 locations in Rockingham County

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office made multiple arrests at two separate illegal video gaming operations. Both cases involved illegal gambling.

On July 18, the Rockingham Sheriff's Office, the Caswell County Sheriff's Office and North Carolina State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant at 9900 US 29 Business in Ruffin.

Deputies said they found hard drives, video gaming electronics, video surveillance equipment and an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Shavon Bauldwin of Keeing, V.A., Dwayne Johnson of Danville, V.A. and Troy Stubblefield of Winston-Salem were charged as a result of the search. Their charges are as follows:

  • Felony operating more than five video gaming machines
  • Felony conspiracy
  • Misdemeanor gambling
  • Misdemeanor operating/possessing slot machines
  • Misdemeanor manufacture/sell slot machines
  • Misdemeanor possessing prohibited electronic sweepstakes device

The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office said this investigation is ongoing. They expect more charges.

Similarly, Rockingham County deputies arrested Carl Richard Reeves Jr, owner of "The Little House" in Eden on June 27 for possession of illegal video game electronics. Hard drives and video surveillance equipment were also found.

The Sheriff's Office said an undisclosed amount of cash was recovered from this business.

Reeves is charged with:

  • Felony operating video game machines
  • Misdemeanor gambling
  • Misdemeanor operating/possessing slot machines
  • Misdemeanor manufacturing/selling slot machines
  • Misdemeanor possessing prohibited electronic sweepstakes devices.

He was given a $7,500 unsecured bond.
