ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — One person was shot during a road rage incident in Madison around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
The victim was found in a blue Jeep Wrangler with a gunshot wound in his leg. He told deputies a silver or white Ford or Dodge truck fired the shot from the car while driving alongside the Jeep on US 220 near the Sardis Church Road, deputies said.
The injury is non-life-threatening and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to deputies.
Anyone with any information about this incident that might have been traveling in the area at that time, or that might have information about the suspect vehicle or shooter in this incident, is asked to call the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office at 336-634-3232 or Rockingham County Crime Stoppers at 336-349-9683.
