ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A 35-year-old Reidsville woman is facing murder and arson charges after a deadly fire in Rockingham County.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office said Rockingham County Fire Departments responded to a structure fire on the 100 block of Kinknicar Road Tuesday.
Once the fire was extinguished, 19-year-old Morgan Danyelle Pruitt was found dead in the rubble of the home. The University of North Carolina- Greensboro confirmed that Pruitt was a current student at the university.
The Rockingham County Fire Investigation Task Force began investigating the cause of the fire.
As a result, Natasha Marie Wren, 35, of Reidsville, was arrested and charged with First-Degree Arson and First-Degree Murder.
Wren is being held in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under no bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
