Reidsville police searching for man facing attempted murder charge

Reidsville police are searching for a man, who is facing an attempted murder charge in connection to a shooting on Barnes Street.

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Police are searching for a man considered "armed and dangerous" in connection to a shooting in Reidsville Wednesday.

The Reidsville Police Department said they received a call right before 6 a.m. to the 800 block of Barnes Street about a gunshot victim. When police arrived, they found Timothy Ray Kuchinski suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.

After an investigation, police said they obtained warrants for 39-year-old James Dwight McDaniel Jr., of Reidsville for the following charges: 

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injuries 
  • Attempted Murder 
  • Two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of McDaniel is asked to contact police immediately. Please do not approach him as police said he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
