Reidsville police investigate counterfeit gold bars at pawn shop

Officers are investigating Kathy's Pawn in Reidsville for its part in allegedly selling fake gold.

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — All that glitters is not gold -- the Reidsville Police Department is looking into the sale of fake gold bars and coins in the area.

According to a release from the department, they're investigating gold bars and coins sold at Kathy's Pawn in Reidsville. 

Police are asking anyone who has bought gold bars or coins in Reidsville to have the gold tested by a gold dealer. Those who have bought fake gold are asked to call Sgt. Payton Lingle at 336-347-2338.

Reidsville police along with Homeland Security, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the North Carolina Secretary of State are continuing to investigate this matter.
