RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A teacher was arrested on Wednesday for sexual allegations, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they received a report regarding sexual allegations on July 1.
After an investigation, detectives sought charges against Britney Marie Vernon, 39, and the magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrant, deputies said.
Vernon is a Career and Technical Education Teacher (CTE) at Randleman High School.
She started in the Randolph County School System on Aug. 20, 2018, and started at Randleman High School on Aug. 21, 2023.
Vernon was arrested and charged with three counts of felony indecent liberties with a student and three counts of felony sex acts with a student.
She is being held on a $75,000 unsecured bond. A first appearance was set for Aug. 12.
Vernon has also been suspended from Randleman High School with pay.
