Most people don't have time to get dressed or put on makeup before their mugshot. But Bangor Police are reminding people that if you "think it's a 'possibility'" you are going to be arrested, dress accordingly.

Bangor Police provided the example of one young man who likely didn't anticipate being arrested. When an officer arrested him for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon Monday night around 9 p.m., he was wearing an interesting choice in clothing.

"I do not believe," writes the Bangor Facebook page,"that we would have picked this tee shirt of the closet or drawer" had he known he was going to be arrested.

The bright orange t-shirt read, "Avoid hangovers, Stay drunk."

"Let this be a lesson to all of us. Plan ahead, get a designated driver, do not commit crimes, always make sure that your choice of evening wear is appropriate for photo sessions," said the Bangor Police Department Facebook.

Mugshots are available to the public and can easily go viral. Some recent examples are "hot mugshot guy" or the man from Maine who was wearing a t-shirt screenprinted with a former mugshot.
