BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a man that is accused of impersonating an officer in Burlington.
Burlington police said a person was walking in the 900 block of E. Webb Avenue when a man driving a silver 2020 to 2024 Ford Explorer approached them on March 21 around 6:34 p.m.
The man in the car said he was a police officer and then took the person's wallet and stole an unknown amount of money and drove away.
The person was unharmed in the robbery.
Police said the suspect is a man ranging in age from 30 to 40 years old, with tattoos on his right arm, minimal facial hair, dark eyes, and black hair.
Officers said the man wore a black shirt and displayed a black gun in his waistband.
