WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Update: Police said they have arrested Morris Alfredo Cortez-Hernandez, 18, Bassy Ariana Marroquin, 21, and a juvenile Friday in connection to the Speedway robbery.
Officers also connected the three people to another armed robbery on Monday at 5595 Shattalon Drive where money was taken from the register.
Cortez-Hernandez is charged with two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. He appeared before a magistrate where bond was denied.
Marroquin was charged with two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Marroquin appeared before a magistrate and bond was set at $5,000.
The juvenile was charged two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. They were given a secure custody order.
Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating two men they believe are responsible for the armed robbery of a Winston-Salem business Monday.
Winston-Salem police said they responded to the Speedway at 1425 Silas Creek Parkway on reports of an armed robbery around 5:40 a.m.
When officers arrived employees told them two men in black clothing entered the Speedway took out a gun, and demanded money from the register.
The men then ran away with an undisclosed amount of money.
They were last seen running away north towards Salisbury Ridge Road.
The investigation is ongoing.
