WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are searching for a suspect they believe is responsible for the armed robbery of a Winston-Salem business.
Winston-Salem police said they responded to an armed robbery call at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts located at 6041 University Parkway shortly before 9 p.m. Friday.
Officers said when they arrived they spoke with employees who said a man who was 6'3 and wearing a black ski mask and a blue puffer style winter jacket robbed the business just before closing time.
Witnesses said the man had a slim build and was also carrying a small leather satchel. He implied he had a gun, forced them into a back office, and then robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was injured during the robbery.
During the investigation, Winston-Salem police were notified by detectives of a neighboring jurisdiction of two other armed robberies of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Thomasville and Archdale that were committed 24 hours before the armed robbery in Winston-Salem.
Police have not confirmed if these robberies are connected.
Detectives with the Winston-Salem PD’s Criminal Investigations Division have assumed this investigation.
