$5,000 reward offered for info leading to arrest in deadly Burlington hit-and-run

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Continuing their investigation into last week's deadly hit-and-run accident on Maple Ave, the Burlington Police announced Thursday that Crimestoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

On Aug. 16, the BPD and Burlington Fire Department responded to a hit-and-run crash on the 2700 Block of Maple Ave. involving a man on a bicycle.

Officers said the man on the bicycle was identified as Michael Blake Hensley, 31, from Burlington. He ultimately died from his injuries at the scene.

The Burlington Police Department said they are looking for an older model SUV with noticeable front-end damage that was reported to have last been seen traveling north on Maple Ave. The police could not provide any other description of the vehicle or its driver.
