WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — There was a police presence at the Walmart on E. Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem Sunday.
Winston-Salem police said they received a report of shots fired in the area around 11:40 a.m.
When officers arrived they said Walmart management decided to close the store, so law enforcement could investigate.
As the investigation continued, officers discovered shots were fired outside of the building near a wooded area.
Police said no one was injured.
The Walmart is back open, according to officers.
The investigation is ongoing.
