WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Multiple people were arrested after a shooting turned into a police chase in Forsyth County on Tuesday, according to police.

The Winston-Salem Police Department said they received a call around 11:30 a.m. about a shooting near the 2600 block of Peachtree Street. While on the way to the scene, officers said they found a black Chrysler 300, the suspect vehicle, driving away from the scene. Once officers tried to stop them, they refused, sparking a chase.

Investigators said the suspect vehicle crashed after officers lost sight of them near the 1300 block of Argonne Boulevard. Investigators determined that the two juveniles who were in the car hopped inside another vehicle with other people before police found them and took everyone in the vehicle into custody.

There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.

Officers arrested and charged the following people:

Beyonce Viera Durant (19)

  • Felony Aid and Abet
  • Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana

Durant appeared before a Magistrate, receiving a bond secured for $2,000.

Jeremiah Jahovah Floyd (21)

  • Felony Aid and Abet
  • Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana
  • Multiple misdemeanor traffic violations

Floyd appeared before a Magistrate, where he received no bond allowed.

A juvenile was arrested and charged with felony flee to elude and multiple traffic violations. Another juvenile was also arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill; a secured custody order was granted.  Because they are juveniles, no further information will be released.
