Not Cool: A/C Units Ripped Apart, Parts Stolen From Church Recovering From Tornado

Three of Living Hope Missionary Baptist Church's air conditioning units have been ripped apart, and the parts inside stolen, in the past month.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Living Hope Missionary Baptist Church already has enough on their plates with tornado recovery, but NOW someone has destroyed their air conditioning units.

Greensboro Police say the thief or thieves struck first on May 30 when one of the units were torn apart and copper wiring was stolen. Police say it's likely whoever stole the copper is trying to sell it at a scrapyard.

The latest incident was reported the morning of June 11. Police say two more of the church's air conditioning units were ripped apart, and parts were stolen.

Pastor Woodard says his congregation has been meeting at New Cedar Grove Baptist Church for worship services since the tornado damaged their church.

You may remember - Woodard found a wedding dress in the debris following the tornado. He's still trying to find the owner of that dress.

If you have any information about the damaged A/C units, call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
