Alamance County man charged with first-degree murder over money argument, deputies say

SNOW CAMP, N.C. — An Alamance County man was charged with first-degree murder after a shooting that happened on Thursday, Nov. 7, according to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.

Ervin Paul Brown Jr. and Jeffrey Brent Lucas allegedly argued over a small sum of money on White Road in Southern Alamance County. This dispute carried over from Wednesday evening. 

While they were arguing, deputies said Lucas showed his weapon and shot Brown.

At around 12: 52 p.m., deputies were called to the scene where they found Brown shot multiple times.

While on the scene, deputies said they were told the suspect drove away from the scene in a pickup truck.

Deputies later arrested Lucas, 42, without incident.

Lucas was charged with one count of first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
