HIGH POINT, N.C.--Prosecutors have dropped charges against a High Point man for a shooting death last year.
The Guilford County District Attorney's office told local media outlets that a charge of first-degree murder has been dropped against 42-year-old Nathan Eugene Wilson.
Wilson had been arrested last March and accused of killing 28-year-old Gerald Dwayne Williamson Sr., of High Point, at a birthday party.
Police say Williamson had been shot several times. He died at a hospital.
Assistant District Attorney Walt Jones says there is not enough evidence now to get a conviction.
High Point police are still investigating.
